As New Council Takes Reins, Kesner Resigns

Citing “changing family obligations” that preclude him from spending the time necessary to represent the citizens of Wardensville, Councilman Luke Kesner submitted his resignation from the Wardensville Town Council.

The Wardensville Council met on Monday, July 9.

In accepting his resignation, Mayor Betsy Orndoff-Sayers said she hoped Kesner would continue to serve on the Wardensville Development Authority and the Fitness Center Board.

Recorder Maureen Martin said anyone interested in applying for the council position should contact her.

“This council is on a learning curve,” Orndoff-Sayers said in her Mayor’s Report. “I apologize if you were made to feel unwelcome. We will have a big tent. We need our volunteers back. We cannot have a successful community without volunteers.”
