Bruins Shred Blue Sox In Doubleheader

There was a rumbling in Harrisonburg as Broadway Bruins roared and shredded the Elkton Blue Sox at James Madison University’s Eagle Field during a doubleheader by the scores of 11-3 and 3-nil (five innings – lightning shortened game) last Saturday with Mountain State players making the difference.

Hedgesville graduate and current JMU player Chase DeLauter dominated at the plate hitting triples thrice and notching a double with four RBIs and scoring four times in the opening contest before following up with an encore solo home run in the second game.

The clear and sunny day was having a great impact on the execution of plays and the enjoyment of the games before a late storm popped up.

Elkins native and Glenville State College pitcher Adam Riggleman contributed on the mound tossing three innings to finish out the fist game garnering four strikeouts and allowing zero walks with just two hits allowed.

East Hardy graduate and Ohio Valley University product Bryce Strawderman created two double plays defensively
