Budget Request Parade Begins

By Jean A. Flanagan
Moorefield Examiner

The annual parade of agencies and organizations requesting funding from the Hardy County Commission  has begun.

The commission met on Tuesday, Feb. 6.

First up, was Ronald Miller, George Leatherman and Karen Stickley with the Potomac Valley Conservation District with a request for assistance with flood control dam maintenance.

There are three flood-control dams in Hardy County, two in the Lost River watershed and one in the South Fork River watershed.

“We mow the dams every year,” Miller said. “They are inspected and they let us know what needs to be done.”
