County 911 Needs Dispatchers

By Jean A. Flanagan
Moorefield Examiner

Paul Lewis is looking for a few good dispatchers. The executive director of the Hardy County 911 Center and Office of Emergency Management reported to the Hardy County Commission at their regular meeting Tuesday, April 3. “We’re having trouble getting people to apply,” Lewis said.

There’s a process for applying for a dispatcher’s job and it entails a number of tests.

“There are two written tests which are basically aptitude tests,” Lewis said. “There’s also a test on the computer where you listen to calls and enter addresses. If you pass all of those, then you go for an interview.”
