The Forest Service will onduct controlled burn in the Waites Run area of Hardy County, WV Today.
This 22 acre controlled burn will take place in Waites Run located in Hardy County, West Virginia. The project boundary is adjacent to County Road 5/1 (Waites Run Road, and Capon Trail #1029.
The Forest Service will be conducting this burn today, Thursday, November 14, 2019.
This controlled burn is part of a Shortleaf Pine restoration project.
Residents of surrounding areas may see and smell light smoke for several days, especially in the mornings and evenings. Smoke may be visible along sections of CR 5/1 (Waites Run Road) for the duration of the burn. Firefighter and public safety is our number one priority.
