Matthew P. Gigliotti was indicted on a total of eight felony counts after Hardy County Sheriff’s Deputies found him living under an assumed name and having violated parole in Wisconsin.
Gigliotti, 40, of Moorefield was one of seven defendants arraigned in Hardy County Circuit Court on Tuesday, June 12 and 13.
According to court documents, in February, the Hardy County Sheriff’s Department was advised of an individual growing and selling marijuana at a residence on South Fork Road. After a period of observation of the individual known as Jeffrey Spencer, a search warrant was issued. Deputies found an elaborate and well-maintained hydroponic marijuana growing operation.
Spencer was arrested and signed court documents using that identification.
Further investigation revealed Spencer’s real name was Gigliotti and he was processed through Magistrate Court again.
