When Hoss Mongold was looking at hip replacement surgery, he went to the Hardy County Health and Wellness Center to prepare. “I had to get myself into shape before the surgery,” he said.
After the surgery, Mongold returned to the HCHWC to continue what physical therapy had started. In total Mongold has had both hips replaced and five surgeries on his back. He keeps coming back to the HCHWC. “This place has kept me moving,” he said.
The Hardy County Health and Wellness Center is the Hardy County Chamber of Commerce 2020 Non Profit of the Year.
To say the HCHWC is one of Hardy County’s hidden gems is an understatement. Its facilities and programs rival those in major cities.
The center features state-of-the-art fitness equipment, a weight room, a cardio room, an activity room for a variety of classes and an indoor swimming pool. In addition, Abner Kessel operates Serenity Massage by appointment at the HCHWC.
