School Cumulative Assessments to Change Again

By Jean A. Flanagan
Moorefield Examiner

Hardy County students in grades K – 8 have improved in reading and math since the beginning of the school year, according to the i-Ready benchmark measure.
Interim Superintendent Sheena Van Meter and Education Consultant Kathy Hardy presented information to the Hardy County Board of Education regarding the diagnostic and instructional system.

The board met on Monday, Feb. 5.

i-Ready is a product of Curriculum Associates, which combines standard-based instruction and assessment to improve student achievement and give teachers a reliable assessment tool. According to Van Meter, Hardy County Schools “invested a lot of money in the i-Ready program.”
