Students Are Reminded, They Live With Their Choices

By Jean A. Flanagan
Moorefield Examiner

The statistics are staggering:

• every 26 seconds a kid drops out of high school

• 75 percent of prison inmates are high school dropouts

• Dropouts cost the US $329 million every year in lost economic opportunity and social services

• 80 percent of high school dropouts end up in prison

State Farm Insurance partnered with the Mattie C. Stewart Foundation to bring a message to Moorefield High School 10th graders on Tuesday, Oct. 23.

Stay in school!

The Choice Bus, part school bus and part prison bus, presents a message about the choices students make and how those choices can effect their entire future.
