Van Meter Signs 3-Year Contract As Superintendent

Sheena Van Meter, Hardy County’s Interim Superintendent, agreed to a three-year contract for the job at Monday’s Board of Education meeting.

After a short executive session, the board voted to approve the contract.

“You can take the word ‘Interim’ from your title, now,” said BOE President Nancy Hahn. “We’re happy you’ve accepted the position.”

Van Meter was appointed Assistant Superintendent in August 2017 after having served as Principal at Moorefield Intermediate School for five years. She was appointed Interim Superintendent in September after the untimely death of Superintendent Matthew Dotson.
