“We estimated a carryover of about $30,000,” said Wardensville Recorder Maureen Martin. “Thankfully, there is considerably more than that.”
The Wardensville Council met in special session on Monday, July 30 to approve a final budget revision to the state and to discuss other financial matters.
The council voted to distribute the $71,311 carryover as follows:
$9,000 – Town Hall to cover the additional cost of the audit
$16,980 – Park and Pool to cover additional utility costs
$1,800 – Library to cover telephone costs
$7,500 – Budget Stabilization Fund is allowed to be 30 percent of prior year’s budget
$31,732 – Capital Outlay part of the town’s General Fund
The council approved the budget revision and the allocations presented.
