Albert William Crites, age 79 of Baker Street, Moorefield, WV, passed away Thursday morning, October 10, 2024, at his residence with his family at his side. Born on September 30, 1945, in Cecilton, MD, he was a son of the late Paul William Crites and Suella Dyer Parsons Crites. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, BUCA Stacy W. Crites, U.S. Navy.
Albert was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne. An avid fisherman (understatement) he was a longtime fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Nationals His exceptional skills in carpentry and masonry will forever stand as a testament to his craftsmanship.
Surviving is his loving wife, Christine Faith Johnston Crites; his daughter, Christy Mooney and son, Jason Crites of Moorefield, WV; daughter Christi Dolly (wife Crystal) of Martinsburg, WV; daughter, Kim Mowery (husband Rusty) of Moorefield, WV; son, Jacob Dolly of Moorefield, WV and grandchildren, Kari Runions, Katie Stump, Emalee Kelley (husband Jacob), Levi Crites (wife Sierra), Nathan Holliday (wife Lauren), Jacob Adams and Megan Perez; and great-grandchildren, Christopher, Charlotte, Regan, Aubrey, October and Allison.
Also surviving are his siblings, Larry W. (Irene) Crites, Don E. (Sylvia) Crites, Doug E. (Linda) Crites, Allen G. (Marie) Crites, Paula Sue (Connie) Mowery, Annabelle Keller, Sandra L. Sterling, Vicki Lynn (Emory) Ayers and Carol J. (Ratcliff).
Funeral Services to honor the life of Albert will be held at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, located at 107 Washington Street, on Sunday, October 13, 2024, starting at 3:00 PM. With close friends and loved ones in attendance, the service will be guided by Omer Washington, a dear friend of Albert. Following the service, the U.S. Army will render Military Rites as a final salute to this respected veteran. For those wishing to pay their respects, the family will be available for visitation on the day of the service starting at 1:00 PM leading up to the ceremony.
