Mervin Geroge Rohrbaugh, age 85 of Old Fields, WV, passed away Saturday evening, October 26, 2024, at Nellas at Autumn Lake in Elkins, WV. Born on September 8, 1939, in Petersburg, WV, he was a son of the late Haven George Rohrbaugh and Ruth Alt Whetzel Engle. A sister, Mary Rosalee Rohrbaugh, sons, Marty Rohrbaugh and Jamie Rohrbaugh and a step-son, Jeremiah Hockensmith also preceded him in death.

A talented truck driver turned skilled mechanic, Mervin’s adventures through the open road and dedication to his work in Moorefield, WV, left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Whether casting a line while fishing or scouring the woods in pursuit of game, Mervin found solace in nature’s embrace, always with a warm smile and a story to share.

A proud fan of the Washington Commanders (Redskins to him), Mervin’s Sundays were a symphony of football cheers and laughter. Cherished moments spent in the wilderness and with family were his true treasures.

Surviving is his wife, Carol Ann Curtis Whetzel Rohrbaugh; daughters, Ashley Rohrbaugh of Morgantown, WV & Lori Simpson of Hazelhurst, GA; step-daughters, Jaennae Snyder of Fisher, WV, Tracy Kesner of Keyser, WV & Linda Mutter of Perryville, MD; step-sons, Michael Hockensmith of Maysville, WV and Travis Hockensmith of El Paso, TX; Wayne Rohrbaugh of Castalia, OH; Carolyn Ann Dunn of Fisher, WV; nineteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

During this time of remembrance, we invite you to offer condolences, share cherished memories, and upload photos that highlight the life and legacy of Mervin on his Tribute Wall at www.fraleyfuneralhome.com . Together, let us celebrate a life lived with unwavering spirit and endless love.
