Santa and Mrs. Claus are so excited to be coming to Wardensville on Saturday, December 7 for Christmas Joy in Wardensville. The elves have been busy making toys and gifts, helping Santa to get ready, while Mrs. Claus has been baking and serving lots of cookies and hot chocolate. Just like Santa, Wardensville businesses, churches and organizations are preparing for a good time of sharing lots of good will.
People of all ages are most welcome to come and visit with friends and neighbors, and enjoy all the offerings from those who serve. There will be cookies, candy, food, hot chocolate, ornaments, books, crafts, gifts, games, music, and all kinds of fun! It all starts at 4:00 at the carnival grounds and goes until 5:30 when everyone will gather around the Christmas tree for a brief ceremony. Arnold Heishman will have the honor of lighting up the tree for the Christmas season.
There will be decorating contests for businesses and homes! The town will glow with the warmth of beautiful lights. Prizes will be awarded for the winners. Those who would like to participate in the decorating contest should call Tom Austin at 304-874-4345.
This will be the third year of celebrating the joy of Christmas with our wonderful community. The event is sponsored by the Wardensville Lions Club. The Town of Wardensville has contributed to help with expenses. If the weather is not favorable on December 7, the event will be held on the next Saturday, December 14. Everybody come!
