Donald Lee Pritt

Donald Lee Pritt, age 68, of Petersburg, WV passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at his home.  Mr. Pritt was born on October 31, 1956 in Marlinton, WV, the son of the late Kessler Lincoln Pritt and Juanita Mae (Sparks) Pritt of Scottown, OH.  Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Catherine “Cathy” Pritt on November 5, 2019.  

Mr. Pritt graduated from Pocahontas High School and enlisted in the United States Marine Corp.  After serving our country, Donald began working at American Woodmark in Moorefield, WV where he later retired.   He was a Christian in faith and known as a genuine, sweet person who didn’t have a mean bone in his body.  He found a second chance at love with his fiancée, Eileen Hose and the two cherished their time together. 

In addition to his fiancée, Donald is survived by: 2 step-daughters, Chasity McKenzie (David) of Keyser, WV; Stephanie Barger (James) of Petersburg, WV; a sister, Barbara Reinhold of Scottown, OH; 2 brothers, Robert Pritt (Cindy) of Renick, WV; John Pritt (Frances) of Hillsboro, WV; 10 Grandchildren, Whitney Simons (Jake); Maiah Hartman; Autumn Harrison (Caleb Alexander); Luke McKenzie (Ashton); Ryan Harrison (Kayla); Liam, Jacob, and Beth Catherine Barger; Rosie Mongold (Daniel); and Herbie Keplinger (Sam) and 2 Great-grandchildren.  In addition to his wife and father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Pritt and brother-in-law, Walter David Reinhold.

Mr. Pritt’s family received friends on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, 1-2 PM, at the Basagic Funeral Home, Petersburg, WV.  Funeral services followed at 2:00 PM with Pastor Bradly “Duke” Thorne officiating. Military honors were bestowed by the USMC and the Grant County Veteran Honor Guard.  Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com or on Facebook at Basagic Funeral Home.
