Vivian M. Teets, 91, of Mathias, WV fell asleep in death on Monday, March 17, 2025 at E.A. Hawse Healthcare Center, Baker, WV.
Born on March 28, 1933 in Mathias, WV, she was the daughter of the late Harry N. Combs and Edna (Miller) Combs.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin E. Teets, an infant son, Eugene G. Teets, and a daughter, Amy Jo Teets. She was also preceded by her 4 brothers, Hurl Combs, Arlie Combs, Harlan Combs, and Ricky Combs, and by 4 sisters, Evilee Barb, Constance “Connie” Mongold, Lorene Whetzel, and Margaret Sandstrom.
She is survived by 2 children, Rodney Leon Teets (Frances) of Mathias, WV and Peggy Fry (Doug) of Staunton, VA; grandchildren, Bradley Miller (Julie) of Verona, VA, Ashley Taylor (Justin) of Mathias, WV, great-grandaugher, Shaye Kline (Aaron) of Clarksville TN, great-great grandson, Carter Kline and a step-granddaughter, Amy Brown of Staunton, VA; a brother, Lawrence “Jake” Combs, 3 sisters, Nina Wilkins, Maxine Abrell, and Rosetta Combs; and many nieces and nephews including a very special niece, Tee-See Belle. Vivian also leaves behind a very loving and kind friend, Billy Greist.
Vivian was a member of Salem Mennonite Church and attended faithfully until her illness no longer allowed. She was a member of the Baker CEOS and the Red Hat Society.
Vivian was a hard worker who loved her family, her garden (where there was never a weed), and working alongside her husband caring for their small farm, having poultry houses, sheep and hogs.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Baker, WV with Pastor Craig Good officiating. Interment will be in Salem Mennonite Cemetery, Baker, WV.
The family will receive friends on one hour prior to the service.
