
The Moorefield Little League Opening Day ceremony was held at Sager Field on Saturday. Moorefield High School Baseball and Softball players volunteered as umpires for the games.

Moorefield Varsity Lady Jackets had trouble keeping up with Pendleton County Varsity Spring 2025 in a 7-1 loss on Tuesday.
Pendleton County Varsity Spring 2025 got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Jenna Smith singled to center field, Lizzie Alt grounded out, and Smith stole home, each scoring one run.
Aryana Hinz pitched five innings in relief for Moorefield Varsity Lady Jackets. The pitcher allowed eight hits and four runs while, striking out four and walking none. Raleigh Kuykendall stepped in the circle first for Moorefield Varsity Lady Jackets. The righty surrendered two hits and three runs over one inning, striking out one and walking one. Baylee Beachler started the game for Pendleton County Varsity Spring 2025. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and one run over six innings, striking out eight and walking three.
Carlee Haines, Cici Kump, Seanna Heavner, Kuykendall, and Kerrigan Bergdall each collected one hit for Moorefield Varsity Lady Jackets. Kump went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Moorefield Varsity Lady Jackets didn’t commit a single error in the field. Grace Simmons had the most chances in the field with four.
Pendleton County Varsity Spring 2025 accumulated 10 hits in the game. Avery Townsend led Pendleton County Varsity Spring 2025 with three hits in four at bats from the leadoff position.
