Moorefield Varsity Yellowjackets couldn’t keep up with Strasburg Varsity Rams and fell 11-1 on Thursday.
Strasburg Varsity Rams jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Brady Flynn singled, scoring two runs, Gavin Dellinger doubled, scoring one run, and Ryan Reynolds homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Tadeo Bunch earned the win for Strasburg Varsity Rams. The left-handed pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one. Oliver Crites took the loss for Moorefield Varsity Yellowjackets. The pitcher went two innings, surrendering five runs on three hits, striking out one and walking one.
Crites and Shawn Reed each collected one hit for Moorefield Varsity Yellowjackets. Kail Greenwalt led Moorefield Varsity Yellowjackets with one run batted in. Reed stole two bases.
Flynn led Strasburg Varsity Rams with three runs batted in. The shortstop went 2-for-4 on the day. Reynolds, Flynn, and Nate Turner each collected two hits for Strasburg Varsity Rams.
