Nolan Roosevelt Shreve, Jr., age 63, of Moorefield, WV, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025.  Born on October 10, 1961, in Harrisonburg, VA, Nolan was the son of the late Nolan R. Shreve, Sr. and Della Leota (See) Shreve.

Nolan is a veteran of the United States Army, enlisting in 1979 after graduating from Moorefield High School. He previously worked at Fertig Cabinet Company, Inc., American Woodmark, and South Fork Auto & Body in Moorefield.

He enjoyed spending time with friends and family; the outdoors – planting his favorite Coleus and fruit trees; going for a drive listening to classic country and rock music; hunting morel mushrooms; fishing; working on cars; and something that brought him great joy – spending time with his beloved dogs, most recently Dutchess and Nova. He also enjoyed both watching and attending NASCAR races, cooking, and exchanging recipes.  Nolan was an avid reader of Stephen King novels and, although only a few may be aware, was quite talented at realistic, detailed drawings and creative writing.

Nolan was predeceased by his parents, Nolan and Della Shreve, and his sister, Jennifer Shreve. He is survived by his son, Josh Stonestreet; his sister, Iris Shreve; his brother, Gene See; two grandchildren, Camdyn and Zaiden Stonestreet; as well as a niece and nephews. Nolan is also survived by Paula (Hoffman) Shreve, whom he married in 2003.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Basagic Funeral Home, 501 North Fork Highway, Petersburg, WV. Nolan’s family will receive friends from 11:00-12 PM, followed by the service beginning at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Randy Miller officiating.   Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com.
