
Moorefield Middle School Boys Track kept the momentum going this season taking top honors with 164.5 points and the Yellow Jackets Girls Track team collected a fourth place finish at the Petersburg Middle School Track Meet.
Romney Middle School Girls Track won the event among nine teams with 161 points.
East Hardy Middle School Girls Track finished in sixth place with 21 points and the Cougars Boys Track took ninth place with one point.
Moorefield Middle’s Bill Ware set a personal record winning the gold medal in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.9 and took gold medals in the 200 dash (25.8), long jump (17’1”) and 4×100 relay.
The Yellow Jackets high jump program record was broken by Matthew Iman at 5’8”.
Hardy County had nearly 50 personal records set in the entire track meet in Petersburg.
East Hardy Middle Girls Track’s Shaye Barb won the two-miler in a time of 15:29.4.
Moorefield Middle Girls Track’s Kennedy Strawderman collected the gold medal in the one-miler with a time of 6:45.4.
