More than 70 people gathered at the Lost River Trading Post on Sat., May 7, to honor the life, work, and contributions of renowned American artist, Robert Singleton.
Lost River Pride President Tim Savoy presented Singleton with the first ever Lost River Pride Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of the trailblazing path he created over the past 50 years for the local LGBTQ+ community of Hardy County.
Sington, a Hardy County resident, was the focus of a 2023 documentary called “A House in the Clouds.” He has said he is a West Virginian by choice. “I carefully chose a remote mountain top where there is a richness of privacy: no interruptions, devoid of all man-made distractions; time: to work, to be introspective; and space: to breathe freely and search for answers.”
