Connie Kay Anderson, age 82 of Harrisonburg, VA, formerly of Moorefield, WV, passed away Wednesday evening, May 21 at Sentara RMH Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA. Born on March 4, 1943, in Colby, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Ernest James Brooks and Erline Esther Beal Brooks. Her husband, Donald Wayne Anderson preceded her in death in August 2012, A sister, Bonita Dee Rein and a son-in-law, Tom Monroe also preceded her in death.

Connie graduated from Ordway High School in Colorado and was a devoted member of the Rockville Church of Christ and in later years was a member of the Moorefield Church of Christ, where her friendly demeanor made everyone feel welcome. Her love for life extended into her artistic pursuits; she created beautiful paintings that earned her multiple awards. As a nurturing homemaker and mother figure, Connie and her late husband opened their hearts and home, welcoming over 40 foster children into their lives, demonstrating her boundless capacity for love and compassion.

Surviving are her children, James (Sandra) Anderson of Harrisonburg, VA, Tamara Monroe of Staunton, VA, David W. (Danielle) Anderson of Dickerson, MD, Dustin J. Anderson of Orlando, FL and six grandchildren.

To celebrate Connie’s extraordinary life, graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield, with Pastor John King officiating. Friends and family are invited to join in remembrance and share their memories of Connie in a warm gathering that reflects her loving spirit.
