Mineral County All-Stars 10U Trounce East Hardy All-Stars 8U-10U

Grant County Junior League Softball team won the West Virginia Junior League District 6 Championship over Moorefield 16-1 at Sager Field in Moorefield.

Mineral County All-Stars 10U won big over East Hardy All-Stars 8U-10U 19-4 on Saturday.

Mineral County All-Stars 10U jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Kennedy R drew a walk, scoring one run, Presley R singled, scoring one run, and a passed ball scored one run.

Mineral County All-Stars 10U scored nine runs on five hits in the bottom of the second inning. Adlee R drew a walk, scoring one run, Bristol H doubled, scoring one run, Presley E singled, scoring one run, Kennedy R singled, scoring two runs, a wild pitch scored one run, and Presley R homered to right field, scoring two runs.

Mineral County All-Stars 10U scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning. An error scored one run, Presley E drew a walk, scoring one run, and Brynlee G drew a walk, scoring one run.

Brynlee G earned the win for Mineral County All-Stars 10U. The starting pitcher allowed zero hits and two runs over two innings, striking out five and walking five. Huntley H took the loss for East Hardy All-Stars 8U-10U. The pitcher went two and one-third innings, allowing 14 runs (13 earned) on seven hits, striking out six and walking five. Presley R appeared in relief for Mineral County All-Stars 10U.

Mineral County All-Stars 10U accumulated nine hits in the game. Presley E, Bristol H, and Presley R each collected two hits for Mineral County All-Stars 10U. Presley R and Kennedy R each drove in two runs for Mineral County All-Stars 10U. Adlee R led Mineral County All-Stars 10U with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Brynlee G, Presley E, Presley R, and Kennedy R each stole multiple bases for Mineral County All-Stars 10U. Mineral County All-Stars 10U ran wild on the base paths, accumulating 16 stolen bases for the game.

Phynlee R, Autumn M, and Brooklyn R each drove in one run for East Hardy All-Stars 8U-10U. East Hardy All-Stars 8U-10U worked the count all day, piling up eight walks.

Moorefield senior Brody See received the North Football All-Stars Offensive Lineman Award and a scholarship at the North-South All-Star Football Classic in South Charleston. South won 29-22.
