Big Fourth Inning Leads 9-11 Moorefield All-Stars Past Hampshire 9-11 All-Stars

9-11 Moorefield Baseball All-Stars scored 12 runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat Hampshire 9-11 All-Stars 16-4 on Thursday for the West Virginia District 6 Area 2 championship in Moorefield.

Layne Ridgway singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, Isaac Barr drew a walk, scoring one run, Rhone Williams singled, scoring two runs, Tanner Ours singled, scoring one run, Zaiden Harvey singled, scoring one run, Hudson Sherman grounded out, scoring one run, a wild pitch scored one run, Layne Ridgway doubled, scoring one run, and NJ Sites singled, scoring one run.

9-11 Moorefield All-Stars were the first to get on the board in the first when a passed ball scored one run.

9-11 Moorefield All-Stars added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Rhone Williams singled down the left field line and 9-11 Moorefield All-Stars scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run.

Rhone Williams earned the win for 9-11 Moorefield All-Stars. The starter surrendered two hits and four runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out four and walking five. Maddox S took the loss for Hampshire 9-11 All-Stars. The starting pitcher went three innings, surrendering 11 runs (six earned) on five hits, striking out six and walking five. NJ Sites pitched one inning of no-run ball for 9-11 Moorefield All-Stars in relief. The right-handed pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out two and walking none.

9-11 Moorefield All-Stars amassed 11 hits in the game. Layne Ridgway, Rhone Williams, and Liam Wilson each collected two hits for 9-11 Moorefield All-Stars. Layne Ridgway and Rhone Williams each drove in three runs for 9-11 Moorefield All-Stars.

Isaac  W drove the middle of the lineup, leading Hampshire 9-11 All-Stars with two runs batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Isaac  W and Maddox S each collected one hit for Hampshire 9-11 All-Stars.

The District 6 Tournament will be in Martinsburg on July 2.
