WVU Medicine Grant Memorial Hospital (GMH) is moving forward with another service expansion to meet the growing healthcare needs of the region.
On Friday, June 27, GMH received state certificate of need approval and acquired the Herrick Physical Therapy property at 35 South Main Street in Petersburg. This facility will become GMH’s new Outpatient Therapy Center, offering physical and occupational therapy in a more convenient and expanded location. By relocating to this new site, GMH will increase its ability to serve more patients locally, reducing the need for residents to travel long distances for care. The new site will also have more space for patient care and additional equipment.
Jeff and Molly Herrick will continue to utilize their experience and expertise to provide therapy services as part of the GMH therapy team. They stated, “We would like to thank the Tri-County Community for supporting us for the past 30 years. We look forward to continuing to serve you for physical therapy services through WVU Medicine Grant Memorial Hospital.”
Plans are currently underway to expand other services within the hospital’s footprint due to this new availability of space. John Sylvia, President and CEO of WVU Grant Memorial Hospital, noted “We are so excited to be able to grow services and locations for the residents of the region. We have recently expanded primary care, added Podiatry, Wound Care, Virtual ICU, and MRI services, not to mention offering additional tests to our existing services. Today we are pleased to announce the expansion of Outpatient Therapy.”
The opening of the location is scheduled for August 4, 2025. There will be a ribbon cutting and open house, in partnership with the Grant County Chamber of Commerce, on September 9 at 5:00pm.
Stay tuned for further announcements as WVU Medicine Grant Memorial Hospital continues to grow and improve healthcare delivery for the community.
