Anita Rebecca Sions Eye (67) of Purgitsville, WV went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Anita was born on November 21, 1957 to the late Edgar (Squeak) Sions and Nellie Haggerty Sions. She was also reunited in heaven with her oldest daughter Maggie.
Anita battled cancer four times with God holding her hands every step of the way! This April would have been 11 years since her battle started. She reminded us all to not blame God because it was the Devil trying to get her. Her faith in God never swayed!
Anita leaves behind her loving husband, Robert C. Eye. Robert and Anita were married 47 years. In those 47 years, they raised 5 children and spoiled 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren. Their oldest daughter, Mary “Maggie” Eye, preceded her in death.
Anita is survived by her children Sara (David) Keplinger of New Creek, WV, Eliza (Roger) Davis of Old Fields, WV, Clay (April) of Burlington, WV, and Kay (Erick) of Oakland, MD; and her grandchildren, Katlyn (Jack) Tilley, Haylee Tompkins, Landen & Rylee Wratchford, Kierstin (Josh) Bircher, KT “Bubba” Bean, Tori & Adyson Crider, Aeden Davis, Courtney Baker, Quentin Crider, Peyton, Zeketin & Dexten Eye, and Brentin & Faith & MaKenzie Dewitt. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Kolton, Lainey, Stella, and another baby Bircher on the way; and her step-grandchildren Justin, Abby & Breanna Davis, Kinsey and Kylie Keplinger. Anita thought all of her children and grandchildren are true blessings from God! Anita is also survived by all eight of her siblings, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly.
Anita was a member of the Mountain View Community Church for most of her life. She was a strong believer of Christ and prayed for all to know Jesus! Anita worked for Hampshire County Board of Education as a cafeteria manager for most of her years with them. She served as the president of PTA, was an officer of RJHS Band Boosters, a member of the Football Athletic organization at HHS. She was an active 4-H member and became a 4-H leader in her adult years. Her most recent years of life were spent at any academic or sporting event that her grandchildren were a part of. Anita loved watching her children and grandchildren participate in activities they were passionate about.
Anita was an organ donor and wishes to be cremated. She wishes for a celebration of life to be held in her honor. Upon Anita’s wishes, the celebration will be held at a later and warmer date when the children can play in the sunshine. Her family will let the community know when the celebration is to be held.
Anita’s message to all who read this: Love one another, forgive often and never forget to tell people you love them! Love the Lord your God!
