Richard Owen Sine, 76, of Bunker Hill, WV, died on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at his home.
Richard was born on October 7, 1948 in Winchester, VA, the son of the late Leonard P. Sine and Grace Deitz Sine Armour. He was a 1967 graduate of Wardensville High School, a veteran in the United States Army, 101st Airborne, having served during the Vietnam War and awarded a Bronze Star.
Upon his return from the military, he worked as a barber for Walley Files Barber shop in Martinsburg, WV. Before being employed by Forecast Furniture of Winchester, VA and finally employed by Rubbermaid Commercial Products of Winchester, VA for 31 ½ years.
Richard was a member of the Martinsburg Moose Lodge #120, Wheel Horse Collectors Club, Antique Steam & Gas Engine Club in Hedgesville, WV, Wardensville United Methodist Church in Wardensville, WV and regularly attended the Bunker Hill United Methodist Church.
He participated and helped with activites and festivals held at The Dillon Farm Museum in Hedgesville, WV. Richard enjoyed hunting. He had a true love of trout fishing. He could often be found streamside with a smile on his face.
Surviving is a daughter: Jennifer M. Leake (Brian) of Hedgesville, WV; a sister: Grace Wilt of Eleanor, WV; a brother: Zachrey Armour of Lake Wales, FL; three grandchildren: Jacob, Joshua & Justin (Samantha) Leake, three great-grandchildren: Michael, Zayden & Asher Leake and a son: Richard T. Burke.
A funeral service will be held at the Wardensville United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM. Officiating will be Pastors Robert Oakley & Katy Mossburg. Interment will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery in Wardensville, WV.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 5-7 PM.
