Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Anderson, 89, of Wardensville, WV, died on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the E.A. Hawse Nursing & Rehab.
Betty was born on November 1, 1935, in Long Island, NY, the daughter of the late Raymond W. and Nellie M. Conley McCahon. Betty was a member of the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Wardensville and worked for 18 years as a baker at Capon Springs & Farms, 44 years as a bookkeeper for income taxes, and owned and operated Anderson’s Bookkeeping & Tax Services in Wardensville. She was a part of the Country Roads Arts & Crafts in Capon Springs, WV, and enjoyed quilting, sewing, painting & baking at the Blue Bird House in Wardensville. What brought her the most joy was spending time with her family.
Betty married her first husband Ernest E. Miller on June 29, 1952. Ernest died June 12, 1968. She then married her second husband Carlton R. Anderson on May 5, 1973. Carlton died August 27, 2022.
Surviving is a daughter: Linda Oates (Johnny) of Yellow Spring, WV; two sons: Ernest L. “Butch” Miller & Terry S. Miller (Connie) both of Wardensville, WV; two stepsons: William R. Anderson & Douglas A. “Doug” Anderson (Karen) both of Wardensville, WV; and numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a son: Donald R. “Donnie” Miller; a stepson: Robert Anderson; two brothers & one sister.
